4 Ways to Focus on the Positives
What are you thinking about?
If you’re reading this, chances are your thoughts have something to do with seeking the OolaLife. You are following in the steps of the OolaGuru and OolaSeeker as you restore balance to your world.
Has one of the key areas of life–fitness, finance, family, field, faith, friends and fun–grabbed your attention? Or are you making the leap from the OolaPlan to the OolaPath, where you put into action the goals that will lead to your dream?
All of these move you toward Oola. If only the journey were so simple! We’re talking about major changes that come out of the goals we set and the stepping stones that make our dreams come true.
Focus works its way into the mix. An OolaBlocker can distract us from our motivation, while an OolaAccelerator can create the mindset we need to see our journey through.
Maybe you just give up an afternoon to binge on a Netflix original. More destructive, you entertain a thought that opens the window to OolaBlockers such as fear, self-sabotage, guilt, anger and envy.
How do you keep your focus on what is good and right to ensure that gratitude, wisdom and love carry you to Oola? Here are a few tips:
- Make a list of positive calls-to-action and put it where you’ll come across it on a regular basis. Our Affirmation Bands, available at the OolaStore, also encourage you to stay on track and nurture the Oola in each of us.
- Take small steps–and savor small victories–in working your way to an OolaLife. If you feel overwhelmed and incapable, you will only feed the OolaBlockers. In contrast, if you see measurable progress, you will be motivated to continue forward.
- Just do it! No one promised this would be easy. Sometimes, you just have to buckle down and focus on what’s needed. Sure, there are plenty of places you’d rather use that $1,000 earmarked for your emergency fund. But in the long run, the balance it brings to your financial health is pure Oola.
- Build a support group–your crew–and draw on them when needed. Be there for them, as well. You might even meet up for Oola University’s seven-week curriculum or challenge each other to reach a little higher.
Some people dream of success. Others wake up and work hard for it. Put your focus on what really matters.
Above all, be grateful, have faith, and go get your OolaLife!
